TECHNIQUE CAMP 2009
July 12-16 (Stillwater) - OPEN & July 12-16 (Reno) - OPEN
Facilities and Location
Facilities for the OSU Wrestling Camps are some of the finest in the country. Campers will stay in college dorms and eat in "all you can eat" style cafeterias. Each camp has a Student Union Building on campus with pool, ping-pong, foosball, video games, pinball and a snack bar.
The Reno Camp will be held at the University of Reno Nevada. The Stillwater Camp will be held at Oklahoma State Unverisity, home of the winningest program in collegiate wrestling history. Stillwater campers will be able to tour the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Supervision and Rules
Participants will be supervised during all organized times and in the dormitory. Campers will be required to attend all assigned activities and instruction sessions. Those enrolled in the camp must comply with all rules and regulations governing conduct of the students on campus. Any violations or abuse of these rules will cause immediate dismissal from the camp without a refund.
We will use every precaution to prevent accidents. We do not, however, assume any responsibility for medical, dental, or other expenses incurred as a result of accidents. A parent or guardian must sign the application before a boy will be accepted into the camp.
Minimum age for resident campers is 10 years old and minimum age for commuters is 7 years old.
Health Insurance
Participants in all the camps will be covered by secondary accident insurance provided by the camp's tuition. The non-duplicating policy covers medical expenses within the range of its limits, except for those costs covered by any other valid and collectible insurance policies. No one will be admitted to the camp without a signed release and a given insurance policy number. Both must be provided on the application.
What to Bring
Bring your own bedding, a pillow, sheets, and towels. Two people will be assigned to each room at check-in Sunday afternoon. Each camper will be expected to supply his own workout gear, shoes, shirts, shorts, singlets, etc.
Fees
Cost for the 15-session, one-week camps in Stillwater and Reno is $365. A fee of $250 will be charged to commuters who attend the camp but do not stay overnight or eat meals.
Fees include instruction, room and board, insurance, use of all facilities, and a top quality camp shirt. No refunds will be made except under unusual circumstances. Group discounts of $10 per camper apply for groups of eight or more. Group applications must arrive in one envelope.
The first meal will be Monday morning and the last meal will be breakfast on Thursday. Lodging will be available Sunday through Wednesday nights. The camps end with the camp tournament. A deposit of $100 is required with this application. The balance is due and payable upon registration. Personal checks will be accepted for deposit, but only cash or a money order will be accepted at check-in. A $10 late fee will be charged for each application that is not received at least one week before camp begins.
General Information
Registration for Stillwater camps will be from 1 to 4 p.m. each Sunday in the NE lobby of Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Reno camp will hold registration on Sunday afternoon. After we receive your deposit, each camper will be sent a confirmation letter that will tell you the exact location for registration.
Transportation to and from camp is each camper's responsibility. Flights into Oklahoma should be made into Oklahoma City. To make special arrangements for airline or bus pickup and delivery call (405) 372-2713. A $25 charge for airport pickup/delivery (140 miles round trip) is required by an NCAA rule, not a camp rule. To make special arrangements for airline or bus pickup and delivery for the Reno camp, call Ross Aguiar at (775) 852-3115. NCAA rules do permit seniors to attend summer camps.
We will have as many staff members as possible at each camp. Because of training schedules, we can't guarantee that everyone listed will be at every camp.
Sessions fill up early, so get your applications in soon. We look forward to working with you this summer!
