The idea is incredibly simple. People who believe they will fail find a way to do it. But more importantly, people who believe they can succeed will find a way to do it. What the mind can conceive, the body can achieve!
A positive mental attitude is vital to a wrestler. Try using these ideas to help develop you own attitude:
Use positive statements. "I can...I will..." Positive thoughts produce positive outcomes.
Be realistic. Realize that success in wrestling comes from hard work and discipline and isn't instant.
Don't limit yourself. Don't fear failure. It's a part of life, and you can turn failure into opportunity by learning from your mistakes and trying again. The only failure in life is not trying!
Practice for perfection. Don't put yourself on cruise control. Every time to take to the mat, every time you work out, go at 100%! Knowing you've worked hard will give you confidence when it counts.
Simulate unfavorable conditions. Expect the unexpected, and be prepared for obstacles. If you prepare, you'll have fewer setbacks. Your success will fuel your positive attitude!
Make the most of every situation. If things don't go as planned, don't give up completely. A day off is a day wasted!
